“Soleil aveugle” is a photographic documentary on Naples through two opposing elements, water and fire, which today
embody important socio-political conflicts in the city. Access to the sea is made almost impossible due to the
privatization of beaches and pollution left behind by former industries, a situation widely criticized by local
groups. Meanwhile, in summer, fires threaten the slopes of Mount Vesuvius.
Naples is a city riven by deep tensions, where the natural elements become both witnesses and actors in
contemporary struggles.
